You dont have to be paying for any channels, It doesn't even matter if your box has been "turned off" for what ever reason.

If you currently pay for channels you can still get your box modded to get all the channels, but you will only pay for the channels your suppose to, most people get there tv package downgraded to freeview after getting it modded as you still get ALL the channels.
