I am a 23 year old student studying at Sheffield Hallam University and I am looking to employ new Personal Assistants to aid me in the morning and evening. I am a C6 tetraplegic which means I am paralysed from the chest down and have limited hand and arm movement after a spinal cord injury. Despite this I am still very determined to regain my independence and I need a P.A who can help me do this.
The morning job will include helping me get showered, dressed and out of bed. Each shift is 2 hours long and ideally you will alternate with one of my current P A’s doing 2 mornings off and 2 on but this is flexible and P A’s often cover for each other.
The evening job is 16 hours a week and involves accompanying me to evening lectures and social events. You must hold a driving licence and flexibility is important.
I hope working with me will be rewarding for the successful applicant as you will be supporting me as I gradually improve my mobility and become more independant.
The initial pay is £6.96 per hour with the possibility of an increase after a short trial period. If you are interested please reply to this advert with some information about yourself, why you feel you are suited to either of the posts and include a CV if available.
