Hays Health and Safety are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Assistant in Sheffield. The purpose of the role is to Assist the Health and Safety Manager in delivery of the ROSPA QSA Action Plan of June 2009 and to give general assistance to the Health and Safety Manager. The organisation currently has 390 permanent members of staff and around 250 employees.

Responsibilities Include:

- Deliver the actions set out in the ROSPA QSA Action Plan in conjunction with the Health and Safety Manager.
- Provide an assisting role to the Health and Safety Manager.
- Assist in the provision of an advisory Health and Safety service to all managers ensuring that the Executive is aware and compliant to all Health and Safety legislation.
- Administer and control accurate records of all appropriate Health and Safety documentation to ensure information is up to date and effectively recorded.
- Advise the Executive on new Health and Safety legislation/codes of practice to ensure that procedures and records are up to date.
- Liaise with Executive employees and contractors on Health and Safety issues as necessary to ensure matters are dealt with as efficiently and as effectively.
- Any other duties commensurate with the post as identified by the Health and Safety Manager or the Principal Solicitor and Secretary to the Executive.

The post holder will deal with all levels within the organisation and must influence and ensure that staff comply with health and safety legislation.

Education and qualifications required: 

- Good working knowledge of HSG 65 and health and safety legislation - Essential
- NEBOSH qualified, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent - Essential
