I am currently working on behalf of a leading Building & Civil Engineering contracting company in their recruitment of a new Senior Quantity Surveyor.

My client offers a large range of civil engineering and construction services across the private and public sector. Following a prolonged period of growth for the business they are now recruiting to strengthen their Commercial team by looking for a senior QS who can work directly under the Commercial Manager within the Head Office team.

The work you can become involved in is a total package service to their clients, which encompasses civil & highway engineering, steelwork fabrication, design and build and building construction.

Operating from their Head Office near Scunthorpe they offer work throughout the UK and are leading players within their region. The company ethos is very important for them, as they have built their reputation for success on meeting the requirements of their clients and the need for quality, value and service undertaking projects from a range of traditional, partnering and framework agreements.

This position is to work within the Commercial Team taking responsibility for a range of projects, which are typically between £1-3 million. This position is needed to be able to handle up to 3-4 projects at a time with their working time being split between times on-site and time in the office. This position is effectively working as a number two for the Commercial Manager and will be given challenging, high value projects from the beginning.

What I seek is an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a track record of working on civil projects and someone who is looking for a role where they can act autonomously on large projects and want to work under a Commercial Manager in driving the business forward.
