Core Job Description
Developing and testing web applications with PHP as the core technology.

Key Duties of the Post
• Designing, building, testing, implementing and supporting applications using computer languages and development tools.
• Communicating with the development team as well as account managers
• Devising possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options.
• Testing sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended.
• Reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary.
• Installing the program and conducting final testing.
• Increasing program operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements, as necessary.
• Coding to agreed industry standards and producing markup compliant with W3C standards and developed with consideration to accessibility issues.
• Recreating steps taken by the user to locate sources of problems.
• Writing detailed documentation for the operation of the program by users and computer operators.
• Consulting manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge.
• To work according to quality assurance procedures as defined by the Company.
• Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
• To undertake other related duties to meet the needs of the designated Group.


Qualifications & Experience
2+ years of quality experience in the following fields is expected...
• PHP & MySQL
• Knowledge of security issues
• XML
• JavaScript
• HTML
• CSS

Additional experience beneficial to the post...
• Content Management Systems (preferably Joomla or Drupal)
• Object Oriented Programming
• Zend Framework
• JQuery

Specific education in related fields is not essential. Significant experience is.
