Our client based in Rotherham (Yorkshire) is actively looking to recruit a 1st Line/2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer on a permanent basis.


Role: 1st Line/2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer

Location: Rotherham (Yorkshire)

Salary: up to £22,000pa

Responsibilities
• The role involves providing 1st Line and 2nd Line technical Support to internal users
• Desktop support
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Assist in any other general tasks that may arise
• Provide PDA support
• Provide anti virus software support

Technologies:
• Windows 2000/2003
• Windows XP
• Exchange and Active Directory
• Working knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook
Experience & Technical Requirements
• IT hardware knowledge
• Telephone/Customer Service experience
• Ability to diagnose faults and problems
• Effective management of customer issues
• Active listening and empathy
• Ability to explain technical instructions in a non-technical way.

Required areas of expertise

• The Ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator
• Punctuality and timekeeping are essential
• Ability to prioritize work and be capable of working under pressure
