Our client a family owned bakery based in South Yorskhire producing a variety of bakery products, require an experienced mechanic for their fleet of 7.5 ton vans, mercedes and ford, iveco and hgv daf vehicles.

Maintenance of a fleet of 10 7.5 t g.v.w.GVs, 30 Mercedes sprinter type vehicles and 7 cars. (Nov 2001) under supervision and direction.

Servicing and safety checks
Daily liaison with drivers regarding defects.
Defect rectification.
Regular safety inspections
Necessary maintenance record keeping
MOT preparation of vehicles and presentation for testing.
Minor bodywork
Breakdown recovery (call outs)
Keeping service bay & area tidy


Full time 39 hours per week – overtime as and when required. Occasionally will involve unsociable (early morning) call outs.

(** Guide only recent overtime has been 4 hours per week taken as pay or as time off)

Basic pay £ 302.88 for 39 hours
Overtime rate after 39 hours and
Sundays & Bank holidays

Holidays 4 weeks plus statutory days
2 weeks sick pay accumulation per annum up to 6 weeks max
