One week holiday, Trenython Manor, Cornwall, 24 -31 July 08 (£650)
I booked a week in Cornwall prior to falling pregnant - not a good idea to travel so far at 38 weeks!
The holiday is at Trenython Manor and Country Club from 24 - 31 July. Accomodation (self-catering) is in a 2 bedroom (sleeps 6) lodge with double bed, twin beds and sofa bed. The lodges have electric heating, iron, ironing board, hairdryer, full kitchen and telephones with modem connectors for laptops.
A beautiful and imposing English country house, Trenython Manor has an added sheen of magnificence and opulence created by stunning Italian flourishes and original features, which include sweeping staircases and colonnades, fabulous Italian marble and detailed carved oak panelling.
Designed by an Italian architect and built in 1872, it was later lovingly restored and more recently converted to a hotel, which today offers the highest levels of modern comfort and luxury, as you would expect in such a fine property.
Trenython's 24-acre estate provides a privileged setting for its luxury, architect-designed country lodges, and a great place to unwind. The hotel's gastronomic reputation and top-class leisure facilities leaves you no need to wander far. But when you feel the pull to discover this part of Cornwall, then Trenython, situated between the picturesque ancient ports of Fowey and Charlestown (awarded World Heritage status), and with magnificent views over St Austell Bay, is your perfect base from which to do so. (approx 5mins drive to Fowey)
Whether to relax, tone up or simply meditate, Trenython is the place. There is an excellent Spa and Leisure Centre, with heated indoor pool, spa bath, sauna and steam room, Fitness Suite and Health & Beauty Salon - offering personalised body treatments. So go on, spoil yourself! The wooded and landscaped grounds are an inviting retreat and you are within easy reach of Britain's longest trail, the South West Coast Path.
An a la carte restaurant is open seven days a week offering dinner only, other than Sundays when Sunday lunch is also available. A full bar with normal licensing hours, serving bar snacks and meals is open daily during lunch times and evenings. Guide dogs are accepted. There are telephones in the units which are charged for at the end of your stay. Other on-site amenities include telephone, car rental, laundry, restaurant, snack bar.
RESORT CHARGES AN ELECTRICITY FEE of £15
